David Duchovny, popular for his role in The X-Files, and actress Tea Leoni have finalized their divorce after a 17-year marriage and three years of separation, Latin Post reported on August 10.
According to People, the couple married in 1997 and first separated in 2008 when Duchovny sought therapy for sex addiction. In 2011, the two separated for undisclosed reasons. The couple had two children together, 15-year-old Madelaine and 12-year-old Kyd.
Leoni will have physical custody of the children, but Duchovny must pay Leoni over $8,000 in child support and $40,000 in spousal support. He is also expected to assume the responsibility of paying for their children’s private school and future college expenses.
