Jessica McClellan

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Jessica moved to North Carolina in 2004 when her father accepted a position in Sports Information at East Carolina University. Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminology, with a minor in Journalism, from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, where she was a student-athlete on both the Indoor and Beach Volleyball teams.

After graduating, Jessica served for three years as a Victim Services Coordinator in the Wake County District Attorney’s Office. In this role, Jessica supported victims of domestic violence and assisted with a wide range of criminal trials, including homicides. Her personal experience in the foster care system and passion for serving families impacted by trauma led her to pursue a legal career.

Jessica earned her Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law in May 2025. While at Campbell, she was actively involved in student leadership and trial advocacy. She founded the school’s first Plaintiff’s Advocacy and Litigation Society, served on the Student Bar Association, and was appointed to be Defense Counsel for the school’s Honor Court.

Jessica was a standout member of Campbell’s nationally ranked Mock Trial Team. She helped lead her team to victory at the American Association for Justice Regional competition, contributed to a quarterfinal finish at the South Texas Mock Trial Challenge, and won an award for Best Overall Brief. She earned top honors in both Pretrial Litigation and Advanced Trial Advocacy courses and was awarded the prestigious Order of the Barristers for excellence in courtroom advocacy.

Jessica gained hands-on litigation experience in the Gailor Family Law Litigation Clinic, where she successfully tried her first case as lead counsel. She joined Marshall & Taylor in the summer of 2024 and began working as an attorney at the firm in September of 2025.

Outside the courtroom, Jessica enjoys spending time at the coast with her husband, Andrew, and their two rescue dogs, Sullivan and Banks. A self-proclaimed foodie, she loves exploring Raleigh’s restaurant scene and attending football and baseball games across the state.
