Former North Carolina State QB, Russell Wilson, files for divorce

Former North Carolina State University quarterback and now NFL quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson, announced on Wednesday,  April 23 that he and his wife, Ashton, are filing for divorce after being married for two years.

Wilson said he is planning to remain silent on the matter and asked the public for “prayers and understanding and privacy during this difficult time”.

The Wilsons were married on January 14, 2012 after Russell Wilson finished his tenure at the University of Wisconsin and just before he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. Ashton Wilson was frequently seen at Seahawks games during Russell’s first two seasons with the NFL.
